This class is for everyone from rank beginners to more intermediate players who may have hit a slump and feel the need to slow down and work on relaxation and technique. The inspiration for my beginning classes comes from the idea that keeping your mind relaxed, spacious and receptive is the key.  Always. The more you think you know, the less you can learn.  “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.” – Shunryu Suzuki Roshi.  We will go into the foundations of right and left hand technique in great detail and have fun exploring daily exercises to encourage easy and efficient picking.

Chord Clinic 3:30-5:30

This class is for anybody who’s got their basic chords down and wants to embrace a deeper knowledge of harmony.   Why do certain chords work together so well?  How can you choose a cool progression for a tune you wrote?  I’ll aim to demystify chord theory using simple ear-training exercises and send students home with handouts and worksheets that will help to unlock the function and purpose of popular progressions.  All levels are welcome.  Just bring a mandolin, a pick and an open mind.

$40 for one – $75 for both
